April 16th – Circus
America’s favorite old-fashioned big top circus is coming to town! The circus is coming to Ramsey on Monday, April 16th at the Village Garage Lot located at 121 W 9th street with scheduled performances at 5:00pm and 7:30pm. Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children 2-12 and seniors 65 and over, and under 2 are always free. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Ramsey News Journal, Village Hall, Casey’s General Store, and the First National Bank. On show day, tickets will be $13 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. Between 9:30 and 10:00am, come watch the raising of the big top and stay for a free tour. This year’s line up includes: a trapeze, prancing ponies, unicycles, tight ropes, and jungle cats.
May 5th – Walk for Life
Walk for Life sponsored by the Pregnancy Resource Center in Shelbyville is being held on May 5th from 9:30am to 12:00pm at the Main Street School in Shelbyville. For more information, go online to hopeforafuture.com.
May 12th – End of School Block Party
An End of School Block Party is being held on Saturday, May 12th from 3pm-10pm at the Free Methodist and First Christian Churches of Cowden. Free carnival games and activities for families of ALL AGES. High school and adult 3 on 3 basketball contest. Free hot dogs and walking tacos served for dinner from 5pm-7pm. The event will conclude with a free outdoor movie starting at 7pm. Babysitting will be available for children during the movie. Free popcorn will also be provided. Seating for the outdoor movie will not be provided. This event is being hosted by various churches of the Cowden Community.
May 24th-27th – Pana Days
The 61st Annual Pana Days will be held Thursday, May 24th through Sunday, May 27th at the Pana Tri-County Fairgrounds from 5:00pm until 10:00pmThursday and Friday, and from 9:00am until 10:00pm Saturday and Sunday.
There will be food, craft and home-based vendors, and carnival rides. Saturday there will be free pony rides from 11:00am until 2:00pm sponsored by Peoples Bank & Trust. A kiddie tractor pull at begins at 11:00am sponsored by the First National Bank of Pana, and a bean bag tournament begins at 2:00pm.
